Cosmo Basic English Learning Capsule
Rural students have lots of apprehension to learn English. For years Cosmo Foundation was engaged to teach English in rural areas. The Organization focused to break the barriers to learn English, correct skills of speaking, reading and writing with day-to-day communication, demonstrations and practical exercise. Looking at the positive feedbacks from learners, Cosmo Foundation developed “Basic English Learning Module”. It has pre-recorded video session with exercises, answer keys and user’s guide.
There are four modules namely – Beginners Part-1&2, which focuses to acquire basic understanding and skills in listening, writing, speaking with correct pronunciation and word construction for young children i.e. pre-primary and primary level students. Whereas, Intermediate and Advance level aim to acquire correct application of functional grammar and oral-written communication.
The module has total 90 subjects and will facilitate English learning for learners from every walks of life - primary school to college going students, teachers, home makers, entrepreneurs, professionals etc. This is a bilingual course with medium of instruction in Gujarati too and delivered in a most simple and scientific manner.
Introduction of Faculty: Pravin Kumar Chauhan
He is a senior English Faculty and Associate Program Coordinator with Cosmo Foundation. He taught communicative English to rural students of upper primary and high schools. His enormous efforts to break barriers of rural population to learn English and to create opportunity for every learner resulted into this module. He has designed this course focusing on concepts and fundamentals of English language and to promote fluency of communication.
He has worked with public sector company as a Senior Executive Secretary, got more than 25 years of experience in teaching English fluency development course. He was a faculty for “SCOPE” English teaching program of Govt of Gujarat. His rendering in English on spiritual book has a prestigious place in British Library in London.
He has done English Stenography, graduation in English and sociology, Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations and pursued masters in Sociology and Law.

Cosmo Foundation is a Philanthropic arm of Cosmo Films Limited, a pioneer in manufacturing BOPP films in India and abroad. Cosmo Foundation is committed to create supportive educational programs for enhancing skills and quality of life for rural marginalized communities and strengthen environment and cleanliness in neighbouring villages of its manufacturing units in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
In Partnership with Government primary and Grant-in-aid schools, Cosmo Foundation runs Basic Computer Literacy, Basic English Learning and Basic Reading, Writing, Arithmetic Programs since 2008 with a vision to assist underprivileged children and youth to realize their potential. Children’s Fair and Cosmo Computer Award are the yearly educational events organized to promote joyful learning, motivation and exposure to students. Training of local youth on functional digital literacy, leadership and entrepreneurship skills, educational and career awareness are the regular key features. Cosmo Digi Pathshala is an on-line learning platform created for rural children to consistently engage them in educational process.
Community awareness programs conducted on health, hygiene, COVID Awareness. The organization has built sanitation blocks for girls and boys in rural schools, installed waste bins across Govt schools and villages and implemented behaviour change programs on cleanliness. Plantation drive was carried out in rural schools and villages to maintain green spaces and environment.
The organization is recipient of three prestigious educational awards viz. Africa CSR Leadership Award, Asia Pacific Enterprise Leadership Award and National Award for Excellence in CSR & Sustainability.
Our Partnership is with 42 Govt schools located across 29 villages, 111 extended villages and impacting 31200 students, 68000 community members and 85 community-based teachers.
